Primer Muntanyar or Benissero Beach
Among the great variety of beaches in Jávea, the beach of Primer Muntanyar or Benissero is one of the most recommended. It is within walking distance of the apartments and villas of the Bahia de Javea and it has the largest dimensions of Jávea with about 2 kilometres long and 30 metres wide, so there is enough space to avoid crowds.
Characteristics of Primer Muntanyar Beach
The first of the advantages of Benissero Beach is its easy access, as it is in a privileged location. Located between the port and Arenal Beach, you won’t have to plan an excursion for the day, but can easily reach it at any time from Avenida del Mediterráneo.
Another of its most representative features is that it is largely made up of pebbles, so it is advisable to wear suitable footwear if you want to move around without any problems.
Although it is not the typical beach of fine sand, it has a great charm and you will be immersed in the Mediterranean coast, which makes it the perfect place to look for apartments and villas in Jávea, both seasonal and permanent residence.
Services and leisure on Primer Muntanyar Beach
Water sports lovers can take the opportunity to go surfing, windsurfing or kayaking. In fact, if you don’t have or don’t want to bring your own equipment, there is an area where you can rent the necessary equipment.
Of course, there is no area for other sports such as beach volleyball or beach tennis, as the rocks are not suitable for them. But you can choose to explore the depths of the Mediterranean Sea by scuba diving or snorkelling.
In addition to the aforementioned excellent location, there is a parking space (more than 100 parking spaces), although you can also rent parasols or sun loungers if you don’t want to carry them there. As usual on the beaches of Jávea, there is a lifeguard service and showers to guarantee your peace of mind.
Likewise, if you want to have a drink or a snack overlooking the sea, there are beach bars so that you don’t have to carry a cooler or leave the beach to buy whatever you fancy.
What to visit from Primer Muntanyar Beach
From there, you can take a short walk (10-15 minutes) to get to the Port of Jávea. You will pass the Playa de la Grava and arrive at a privileged setting with different gastronomic options if you prefer to eat in a restaurant.
This maritime district has had great significance in the municipality and surrounding area for centuries, although it was in the 1960s, with the construction of the Church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, when it was possible to combine traditional beach tourism with a visit to avant-garde architecture.
In Duanes de la Mar there is a wide variety of shops to buy souvenirs or whatever you need for your daily life, and it is one of the favourite places for those looking for a lively area in the city. A special date in the calendar is undoubtedly the patron saint’s festivities in September.
